DrZ aka Jay

As some know already, Jay was hit last month on his bike. Does anyone have any more details?

Re: DrZ aka Jay

Jay came home from the hospital this past Friday night. He has a long road of recovery ahead with a seriously injured leg. He was hit from behind while stopped at a stoplight by an elderly driver who hit the gas instead of the brake. The cop called the driver "older than dirt".

Re: DrZ aka Jay

Jeff's account is pretty accurate. It seems like it just happened. The last two weeks in the hospital is just a blur. I don't remember most of the last two weeks at Holy Cross.

I will find out more at a Dr. appointment with the ortho next week.

I had completed my new schedule, bought textbooks, and accepted a new job at the university as an academic coach in the Disabled Resources and Educational Services department at CSUN. The accident changed all that, which has been difficult. It will be at least six months before I can get behind the wheel of a car, and longer before I I can ride.

Transportation will be tough during this period. But I hope to see everyone sometime soon.

I am thankful that I will heal. I am also thankful that David has been so devoted to helping me get better, and for the support and good wishes from my friends.

Thank you all for your friendship and good wishes. It has been and will continue to be a big help in my recovery.
